The Tip of the Iceberg

As we finish up this course, I am feeling a bit like I did my junior year in college after participating in a program abroad called Semester at Sea. We sailed around the world on a converted naval ship visiting 12 different ports, while studying and reflecting on our experiences aboard the ship along the way. When I left on that journey, I thought for sure the traveling during that semester would be enough to last a lifetime, but 100 days later, I felt like I had barely scratched the tip of the iceberg. I had seen so much and gained a general sense of how to navigate new and unfamiliar places, but knew that there was so much more to see. The experience also put me in touch with global events in a way that I had never been before, and I didn't want to lose the new found knowledge and connection that I had gained.

Today, I am experiencing those same feelings on a 'technological' level. My knowledge and interest have grown considerably, however, I realize that, after learning much, I know very little in comparison to what is still out there. Fortunately, similar to my experience with Semester at Sea, I am left with a desire to stay connected and continue to learn and grow in the technology realm, as well. Hopefully I will be able to keep up. Thanks to all of you for your part in another great trip!
