Poor Judgement / Escalating Consequences

As a teacher of middle school special education classes, I have had parents request that I review with their child the progression of consequences if there is misbehavior. I have found that the list below spells this out and thought I'd share with you in the event you have a similar need.

ESCALATING CONSEQUENCES
FOR Mis-BEHAVIOR / Poor Judgement

1. Verbal Warning
2. Teacher speaks to student about situation 1-1
3. If in class session, removal from the group
4. Detention
5. Phone Call or Email to Parent
6. Sent to Principal’s Office
7. Parent Meeting
8. Saturday Detention
9. Continued Parent Involvement
10. Suspension
11. Continued Parent Involvement
12. Expulsion
